A major thanks would like to be given to Chiquitos, and in particular to Sally Robinson (Stephen A's sister-in-law) and her boss Damien. Sally alone has provided a considerable amount of prizes that went towards both the Crofton Quiz night and the main Charity Skittles Night raffle. She then badgered her boss Damien who kindly agreed to donate a considerable amount of money to enure the cyclists had appropriate kit and equipment to make the cycle ride all the more comfortable. If that was not enough, Sally is allowing the guys to stay at her holiday home on Saturday 06 Sep 08 as we tranist through Scotland. We can't thank you enough.

The Crofton hold a quiz night on the first Tuesday of every month where all the takings are kindly donated to charity. Ian the landlord let us hold a raffle during the quiz on Tue 05 Aug 2008 with all the prizes were provided by local organisations, and at the same time allowed DownsEd to receive the funds not only from this months quiz, but also last months. With a combination of £206 from quiz funds and £194 from raffle tickets, the regulars in the Crofton have contributed a massive £400 towards our target of £5000. A special thanks to Ian and Sue in the Crofton, Alan Young the Quizmaster and everyone who kindly donated on the night, your help is very much appreciated.

Charity Skittles Night - The Crofton - 14 Aug 2008
A charity skittles night was held at the Crofton on Thursday 14 Aug 2008 where friends and family came along to a fun night of skittles where we enjoyed a basket meal and drew the raffle for which we had been selling tickets throughout the previous month. With 38 people attending the skittles we received £104.50 from the tickets, sold an additional £96 in raffle tickets on the night, combined with an additional £277 worth of raffle tickets sold previously, meaning the night was a massive success earning a total of £477.50 towards our aim of reaching our target of £5000.
