The Fundraisers:

Stephen Anderson

I thought I was the youngest of the bunch at 36, but sadly I recently found out I was not due to Mr Skittrall being 2 years younger than me! I am without doubt the shortest by at least half a foot, but I will give the tall fellas a run for their money on the bikes!!  I have never attempted anything as major as cycling the length of the country and am looking forward to the challenge and the fresh air that Scotland brings.  If you would like to contact me you can do so via e-mail to [email protected] Thank you for supporting the charity.

Ady Kirk

I've done some mountain biking in the past, hence the South Downs Way ride last year with Steve, but as the longer training rides have already shown; this is quite different and will be a big challenge!  I love any kind of outdoor activity so I am really looking forward to travelling nearly 1000 miles by pedal power, taking in some fantastic scenery (weather permitting) along the way.  The support shown so far in terms of event support and sponsorship has been amazing - please keep it coming as it spurs us on imensely.  Let's get that £5000 for DownsEd.  You can contact me via email: [email protected].  Cheers.

Gary Sinclair

It’s amazing what you’ll agree to after a few beers!!  I am the oldest of the bunch (41) and not allowed to forget it; either by the guys or by my own body!  I’m also the only crab (RAF person) ‘on board’.  I love a challenge and I’m really looking forward to being outdoors for a couple of weeks, even if that means listening to 3 matelots whining about being saddle sore.  If you would like to contact me you can e-mail me at [email protected]

Thank you for your support.

Steve Skittrall

I am the the mad fool who had the "good idea" for this trip last summer, after Ady and I had competed the South Downs Way.  The dehydration must have fuddled my mind!   Recent training rides have been both enjoyable and painful, I think I am definitely more of a sprinter than endurance cyclist, so this trip will be a far cry from the 6 mile cycle to work and back!  I am looking forward to a good few laughs on the way and will no doubt have a few yarns to spin after the cycle. I aim to make my girls proud but have to admit I am looking forward to a restful beach holiday in Corsica following the event.  I am grateful to everyone for their commitment to the adventure and for their charity fundraising.
